At Browne Accounting we are proud business members of 1% for the Planet and The Conservation Alliance. Our commitment at 1% for the Planet means we donate the equivalent of 1% of sales through monetary or in-kind donations to grassroots organizations. With The Conservation Alliance we are an integral part of helping protect the wild spaces we love by investing in and voting for some of the most compelling conservation projects in North America.

We utilize our ability to do our business online and strive to have minimal impact on the world by providing cloud-based accounting. Any actions outside of this model, we consider our carbon debt. We keep track of our impact and offset it each quarter by putting the financial equivalent directly back into the hands of people we trust. We have intentionally chosen not to invest in carbon offsets, because we do not consider them the answer to the root of the problem. Some examples of the organizations we have donated to are below.

Ocean Conservancy - African Wildlife Foundation - The Pachamama Alliance - One Tree Planted - Mission Blue

Solar Sister - Conservation International - Women’s Earth Alliance - Wildlife Conservation Network

Rainforest Rescue - Santa Barbara Channelkeeper

Browne Accounting also believes in giving back to our community and the people committed to protecting and supporting our planet. We offer accounting services to a handful of these groups for a reduced fee. It's our way of saying thank you to the struggling non-profits, volunteers, advocates, scientists, and researchers working tirelessly to make this world a happier and healthier place for us all.
